busy, busy, busy

recovering from a wonderful trip to Germany, moving into our new/very old apartment downtown, and dealing with a baby who quit nursing...cold turkey?? Its been 3 days now, and he is just not interested at all, he fusses when I put him on my lap. Is he done? Should I pump, or just let go? Any BF mama advice?

That is a sad day, but I think he's letting you know it's time to move on. I'll be so bummed when addie weans.
Hope you had fun on your trip. I'm excited for all of the pics.

Wow, that was fast! Eric just told me the other day that he was down to in the evening only. I'm selfish of course but my vote is HE'S DONE! YEAH! Now can he come to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the day?! We are ready to play! YIPPEEEEEE!

Yep. He's done. It sounds like when Justin and Nathan quit nursing -- totally cold turkey but they were only 6 1/2 months old!

this is likely a nursing strike, totally common! (When babies abruptly stop nursing, it's a nursing strike - not weaning. Babies rarely wean on their own before 18-24 months, and self-weaning is almost never abrupt. see this: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/weaning/babyselfwean.html)

Also, see the very bottom of this page. Under 'nursing strikes' there are a bunch of great links.

I've been nursing for 4.5 years straight... *yawn* We've had a few strikes along the way.

In any event, good on you for nursing this long!

Miss you guys. :)
